Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching license and Adaptive Physical Education endorsement/certification, as required
• Experience designing and implementing adapted PE programs for students with disabilities
• Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with students, staff, and families
• Understanding of current best practices in inclusive physical education
• Passion for fostering a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and tailor PE curriculum to meet individual student needs, ensuring all activities are accessible and meaningful
• Assess students’ physical abilities, progress, and individualized goals in compliance with IEP/504 plans
• Work closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and family members to support student participation and progress
• Utilize adaptive equipment and creative strategies to accommodate varying abilities
• Document student achievements, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
• Promote healthy lifestyles, positive attitudes, and sportsmanship in every class
