Environmental Worker

Job Summary The Environmental Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. This includes routine and specialized cleaning in patient rooms, public spaces, and clinical areas. This role plays a key part in infection prevention and control, contributing directly to patient safety and comfort. Responsibilities Clean and Sanitize Hospital Areas Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and public spaces Maintain strict compliance with hospital infection‑control standards Waste and Linen Management Collect and dispose of general trash, biohazardous waste, and soiled linens Safely transport waste to designated disposal areas and handle hazardous materials properly Supply Stocking and Equipment Care Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels in all assigned areas Maintain janitorial carts and cleaning equipment in clean, working condition Safety and Infection Control Follow hospital safety protocols and infection control guidelines at all times Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and report safety hazards or incidents promptly Special Cleaning Tasks Perform terminal cleaning of discharged patient rooms Clean precaution/isolation rooms following specialized procedures Team Communication Respond promptly to cleaning service requests from hospital staff Maintain respectful and professional communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers #J-18808-Ljbffr Mary Dickson
