KING’S SCHOOLS PURPOSE STATEMENET

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Director/Program Supervisor, the Food Prep Coordinator will maintain all aspects of the King’s Early Learning Center food prep needs which include, snack menu planning, snack meal planning, lunch preparation and serving to the classrooms. Track inventory, order, and purchase supplies if needed. Oversee that the food prep area and related supply areas are kept clean and in order. Provide knowledge about State licensing regulations related to food preparation as well as additional safety and food safety regulations from the Food Handlers. Work and collaborate with the Program Supervisor to plan nutritious monthly snack menus that comply with licensing and encourage learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(General overview and may include all details of responsibilities) Track food and supplies,monitorusage and arrange forreplenishmentas necessary. Perform all duties related to serving lunch and snacks.This will include, but is not limited to: Maintainingfood temperaturesserving lunch and snacks.This willinclude butis not limited to:World Concern CRISTAstaff andpreparesafe and healthy food according to the children’s needs. Planand Prepare snacks. Manage portions. Deliver food to classrooms. Clean and sanitize. Coordinate class cooking projects, field trip food and snack requirements with the AssistantDirectorand Teachers. Ensure kitchen and storage areas are clean and well organized.Maintain cleanliness of staff lounge kitchen area and refrigerator. Check and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures for kitchen, staff lounge, and classrooms. Replenish teacher lounge supplies weekly. Attend andparticipatein meetings, staff events and job-related workshops and classes. Provide supportforthe classrooms andtheofficethathelpsto ensureKing’squality and safety. Work collaboratively withsupervisor,coworkersand students. Perform other duties as assigned. Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

CHRIST CENTERED

Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.). Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA. Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices. Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC). Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with young children.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Must have current food handler’s permit or be willing to obtain upon hire.

Must havepositive, patient, child-centered temperament. Mustdisplay a positive professional attitude. Ability tomaintaincomposure in a busy, open setting. Must be able to work alongside teachers and staff as part of a team. Ability to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers and students.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

College credits or degree in Early Childhood education.

EXPERIENCE

Experience working in a State licensed childcare facility.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Must have the following, or be willing to obtain upon hire: Washington Staterequired20-hour basic training or show proof of a waiver. Child/infant CPR and first aid. HIV andblood bornepathogen training. Proof of negative Tb skintest. Other certifications as deemed necessary by the state for work in a licensed Early Learning and Early Education facility.
