Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantSumBridge is hiring a Senior Accountant to join our Tacoma-based client in a long-term consulting capacity. (likely 4-6 months with possibility to extend and potentially be hired permanently) The Senior Accountant role will support a number of areas of their general accounting team, including working on an accounting reconciliation clean-up project, maintaining fixed assets, streamlining some financial reporting and other duties as assigned. The Senior Accountant works with a collaborative team, offers competitive compensation and benefits including healthcare and PTO. The role is onsite in Tacoma but will have some flexibility around schedule.Job Responsibilities:Prepare assigned journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsCompletes monthly accounting close efforts, process and calculation of transactions, and prepare auditable account reconciliationsAssist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variancesCompile audit PBC requests and selections for testingCreate and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recording of fixed assets.Assists with long-term accounting projects, upgrades and/or process enhancementsAssists Finance Director with development and execution of monthly, quarterly and annual financial plans as needed.Perform other accounting duties as assignedJob Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required5+ years of relevant accounting experience showing progressing level of responsibility and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Experience in a shared service environment is helpfulFixed asset management including depreciationStrong Excel skills with at least 3 years' experience with Microsoft Office preferredProficient in ERP/Accounting software (Tier One providers preferred like Oracle, SAP, Netsuite, Dynamics), data import and export and Microsoft Office.Experience within the not-for-profit space is desired but not required.Experience working within a team environment where communication is prioritized and collaboration is welcome.
