What You'll Do

As a Psychiatric Rehabilitation Worker , you will work under the direction of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist to assist residents in developing the skills needed to successfully transition to greater independence. You will collaborate with therapists, psychiatric rehabilitation staff, and residents to implement individualized recovery plans through skills-based and strength-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote the principles of recovery and psychiatric rehabilitation with residents, providers, and community stakeholders
• Assist residents in identifying personal strengths and developing recovery goals
• Facilitate skill-building activities that support independence and long-term recovery
• Support residents in accessing community resources, peer supports, and self-help groups
• Assist with scheduling appointments and navigating behavioral health and substance use treatment systems
• Help residents access legal, probation, court, and justice-related services when needed
• Participate in treatment team and discharge planning meetings
• Advocate for residents' medical, behavioral health, and community support needs
• Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to support resident growth and goal achievement
• Support communication and coordination between physical and behavioral healthcare providers
• Provide recovery-focused support and resources to residents and their families
• Complete timely electronic documentation and service billing through the electronic health record system
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet resident and program needs

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of six (6) months of direct care experience working with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or forensic-related challenges
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical, TB testing, and Hepatitis B screening
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Ability to engage residents in therapeutic, recovery-oriented interactions

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
• Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and recovery-oriented practices
• Experience working in residential behavioral health settings

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Schedule based on program needs
• Flexibility may be required to support residents and program operations

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents as needed
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
