Job Description Position Purpose: Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job. Directs and controls the operation of the Starbucks kiosk to achieve sales and profit objectives. Job Description: As a primary contact for customers, the Starbucks Department Manager provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The manager is held accountable for the department’s results including superior service, increased sales, improved gain, and containment of costs. Duties include merchandising, inventory control, order entry, training and scheduling of barista staff, coffee preparation, and cash handling. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Provide customer service as defined by company policy. Resolve customer issues and sales discrepancies. Train, schedule, and supervise barista staff. Provide financial reporting to Store Manager and Field Supervisor. Change signs and prices per merchandising directions. Write orders in the guidebook and enter them into the computer; check orders for completeness upon arrival. Brew coffee, tea, and chocolate; operate beverage equipment. Operate electronic cash register, accept payments, and give correct change. Maintain cleanliness of the coffee service area. Set up and maintain displays in the coffee area. Replace stock in the preparation area from the supply area. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Related Qualifications Ability to follow company customer service procedures. Demonstrated customer service skills or related experience. Ability to interact with customers and coworkers. Ability to understand and follow directions. Supervisory Responsibilities Barista staff. Permits/Licenses Varies depending on store location and state/county requirements. Work Environment Temperature extremes: N/A Chemicals: Seldom (surface cleaners, grease cutters, detergents).

MACHINES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT

Cash registers, grocery carts, box knife, blender, coffee maker, spoons, cups, pitchers, and other utensils, coffee grinder.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constant, frequent, occasional, and seldom activities are required. Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, standing, walking, and balancing range from 1–50 lbs. and various body movements as described. Union and Non-Union The pay range is $18.16–$26.15 per hour, no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates vary based on location, experience, qualifications, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; sick pay; PTO/vacation pay; paid holidays (9 days annually); bereavement pay; and retirement (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
