Role Description The Facility Operator is a full-time, on-site role located in Wakulla, FL, responsible for the daily operation, cleanliness, and safety of the shop and surrounding grounds. This role includes opening and closing the facility, monitoring equipment and shop areas, and performing routine inspections to ensure tools, workspaces, and storage areas are organized and functional. The Facility Operator will handle basic maintenance tasks, coordinate with vendors or technicians for repairs, and assist with inventory, supplies, and materials. They will help manage waste disposal, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and support shop staff by preparing work areas for projects. The role also involves occasional interaction with visitors, drivers, or delivery personnel to direct them to the appropriate areas and maintain efficient facility flow. Qualifications Experience with general facility operations, including daily opening/closing, routine inspections, and coordination of maintenance or repairs. Ability to perform basic building and equipment upkeep, such as minor repairs, cleaning, organization, and safe tool handling. Strong focus on safety practices, including hazard recognition, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to shop procedures. Effective organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks, manage supplies, and keep work areas orderly. Clear verbal communication skills to work with technicians, vendors, and leadership, and to follow written instructions and safety guidelines. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, move, or carry materials as needed for facility operations. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in an automotive, industrial, or shop environment is preferred.
