Step into a vital support role for the 2026–2027 school year as a Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) Level B paraprofessional. Work hands-on within a dedicated team to provide caring, skilled assistance to students with significant needs in a highly supportive classroom. This contract opportunity delivers a meaningful impact for students, families, and school communities.

What You’ll Bring:

• At least 1 year of experience as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or in a similar special education role (school-based preferred)
• A patient, calm demeanor and strong consistency, especially when responding to challenging student behaviors such as hitting, biting, spitting, elopement, and more
• Capability to support personal care (toileting, diapering, hygiene, feeding), provide mobility assistance, aid communication, and maintain routines and transitions
• Success using behavioral redirection and following safety procedures
• One of the following: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, or an approved state/local competency assessment (or willingness to complete certification within 60 days of hire)
• Reliable availability for a full school-day schedule (generally 7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
• Ability to commute to Orefield, PA (within 35 minutes)

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster learning and safety for students with complex disabilities under the direction of classroom staff
• Address academic, behavioral, and daily living needs compassionately
• Remain responsive to student needs, including lifting and physical assistance as required
• Adapt quickly to classroom and behavioral situations, ensuring positive outcomes

This opportunity encompasses a 32.5-hour work week, beginning August 10, 2026, with initial limited hours before regular school hours resume. Pay for this position is $42 per hour.
