Senior Manager - Healthcare & Life Sciences - Pharma/Biotech

Job Overview As a Senior Manager at Simon-Kucher, you will be a critical member of our Healthcare & Life Sciences, Pharma consulting team in North America. Responsibilities Lead and manage the delivery of client projects while elevating analysis and insights, infusing client‑centric depth into deliverables. Drive project planning and execution, ensuring alignment of delivery to client needs and objectives and managing an efficient project timeline. Lead and guide a large, talented team of junior consultants to develop innovative, actionable insights and recommendations using data, analytics, and research. Develop trusted, credible senior‑level advisory relationships by delivering high‑quality, tailored recommendations our clients can execute to realize benefits. Effectively engage a senior client audience at all stages of their commercial growth strategy, understanding their needs, obtaining buy‑in for recommendations, deliverables, and solutions. Expand and develop new capabilities, tactics, and tools that advance client business goals. Identify and engage prospective clients to understand their priorities and challenges where Simon‑Kucher can support and grow our footprint. Provide exceptional client service and communication, even during challenging, unexpected situations. Prepare client‑ready deliverables and independently present findings and recommendations to a senior client audience, incorporating feedback. Manage multiple projects and teams concurrently, developing team members through coaching, training, and feedback. Lead project teams to desired end‑goals by defining roles and responsibilities, demonstrating strong project management, and serving as primary contact for client teams. Create project work‑plans and guide the team through activities, including oversight of primary/secondary research and qualitative/quantitative analysis. Oversee work and outputs of team members across projects of varying scales, providing timely feedback to balance timeline and quality. Contribute to practice priorities, develop new insights, and pursue new business opportunities, including proposal development and client pitches. Develop and deliver thought leadership in collaboration with Pharma practice peers and seniors. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to clients. Analyze existing processes and tools, recommending opportunities for continued improvement. Coach and develop consultants and serve as a Career Development Advisor for junior team members. Demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence when managing conflict or communicating change. Play an integral role in recruitment and integration of new Healthcare & Life Sciences, Pharma consultants. Contribute to Simon‑Kucher’s culture and success as a firm‑wide leader. Qualifications Outstanding drive, determination, and desire to be part of a top‑tier consulting firm. Strong knowledge of the Healthcare & Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals sector, and ability to be an industry thought leader. An undergraduate degree. Minimum 6+ years of experience in a professional services environment, ideally in management consulting serving Healthcare & Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical industry. Proven business consulting expertise in growth strategies, go‑to‑market strategy, segmentation, product and portfolio design, pricing, marketing, value‑proposition development, distribution strategy (omni‑channel management, digitization, channel orchestration), sales strategies, and monetization strategies. Strong analytical skills with ability to distill insights and explain impact on client processes from large data sets. Effective presentation and communication skills to present findings, takeaways, and key recommendations to senior audiences. Record of solving complex problems, directing teams, managing individuals, and completing challenging projects within tight timelines. Track record of managing multiple projects, including work plans, deliverables, and deadlines. Strong work ethic, highly collaborative, great team player, with an entrepreneurial mindset. Highly inclusive and empathetic leadership style. Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to develop and maintain deep relationships with senior clients. Existing network within the Healthcare & Life Sciences industry in North America is a plus, preferably with senior executives in Pharmaceuticals. Proven ability to build, grow, and maintain a high‑performing consulting team. In‑office or client‑site presence 2–3 days per week in alignment with hybrid working model. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $190,000 to $210,000 per year for U.S. roles. Salary ranges are reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with market conditions.
