Summary:

POSITION OVERVIEW

Women's Recovery Support Specialist will provide supportive, recovery-oriented interaction and engagement to people enrolled in the Empowering Women's Program. The Women's Recovery Specialist is responsible for serving women in collaboration with the Director of the Women's Recovery Home-Hostopi Hoci to ensure people enrolled in the program are able to attain the skills, knowledge, and abilities to move forward in their journey of recovery. The role of the Women's Recovery Specialist is that of a coach or mentor who through his or her lived recovery experiences, can provide the guidance and role modeling necessary to promote wellness, purpose in life, develop relationships, and the insight necessary to move forward. The Women's Recovery Specialist will work in collaboration with Ho-Chunk Nation Behavioral Health and other tribal services to provide wraparound care for Ho-Chunk enrolled and/or other Federally Recognized Tribes enrolled women who need outreach, encouragement and direct support to maintain their sobriety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

1.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

2.Graduate of State of Wisconsin Peer Specialist Training; certified in Wisconsin as a Certified Peer Specialist OR become certified within one (1) year of hire.

ESSENTIAL:

1.Must be 21 years of age or older.

2.Must be free from problematic substance use for at least two (2) years immediately preceding hiring.

3.CPR certification.

4.Certified Peer Recovery Specialist preferred.

5.Must have a valid driver's license (with safe driving record), automobile and sufficient insurance.

6.Must promote a healthy non-abusive lifestyle.

EXPERIENCE:

1.Lived experience with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring needs and knowledge of recovery principles.

2.Must have experience or desire to work with people who have substance abuse disorders.

3.Experience with recovery processes.

4.Experience with computers including; Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel, internet and email.

5.Experience with advocating for people who need help.
