Please visit our web site to learn more about Milliman’s commitments to our people, diversity and inclusion, social impact and sustainability: The Atlantic Region Property and Casualty (P&C) practice, with locations in Boston MA and Burlington VT, provides actuarial consulting services on a range of projects across the insurance, reinsurance, insurance‑linked securities (ILS) and alternative‑risk markets. We work on a diverse set of clients including self‑insured corporations, commercial insurance companies, governmental agencies, risk pools and financial investors. Using a variety of Milliman products and practice‑built tools, we aim to establish and develop the cutting edge of actuarial practice in each of our professional niches, and provide our clients with trusted partnership and advice to advance the financial well‑being of people everywhere. The team is a focused and tight‑knit group working across multiple locations. Team members work on a range of client projects of various sizes, and we employ a highly integrated project structure that encourages interaction across all members of the team, from Analysts to the Principals who serve as client leads. While most of our team’s time is spent working with members of the practice, we also complete assignments in partnership with other Milliman offices worldwide. What You Will Do On a day‑to‑day basis, an experienced Actuarial Analyst will work autonomously and with project team members to execute key analyses for ongoing projects. Building upon two or more years of professional actuarial experience, this Analyst will be expected to produce high‑quality work and, on occasion, delegate tasks to junior team members. Much of this person’s work will involve complex data manipulation and summarization in Excel, but supplemental programming, statistical and database skills are highly valued and will open up additional opportunities for impactful client assignments and advancement. Our ideal Actuarial Analyst demonstrates professionalism and strong communication skills in all internal and external interaction, with a strong work ethic and intrinsic motivation, especially when working remotely. An up-and-coming actuary who enjoys the technical aspect of the field as well as presenting results and recommendations will thrive in this role. Actuaries in this practice are expected to pursue credentials with the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) by taking and passing actuarial examinations, and are provided time and monetary resources to support this pursuit. Typical Responsibilities In This Role Include Oversee the execution of projects, whether ad hoc or longer‑term Write reports and support client communication Direct interaction with client and/or client’s other vendor partners (e.g., broker, captive manager, auditor) Direct, train and provide guidance to Actuarial Analysts (e.g. data cleaning, checking) Comply with internal quality control, risk management, and peer review guidelines Participate in marketing opportunities including publications and presentations Present findings to peers, project managers and client relationship managers Draft written reports and exhibits, and prepare other internal/external correspondence Check own and peers’ work for accuracy in the mechanics as well as the methodology Write detailed documentation to keep track of how data is compiled for specific projects Implement process improvements to produce better results Perform or assist with other duties assigned at the direction of practice Principals What We Are Looking For A minimum of three actuarial exams passed at the time of application, and in pursuit of an Associate credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society Between two and ten years of professional actuarial full‑time work experience in pricing, reserving, predictive modelling, capital modelling, enterprise risk management and/or reinsurance‑related actuarial topics for North American and/or European companies Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher at the time of application, including quantitative coursework in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, etc. Substantial expertise with MS Excel and Word If you have already attained your ACAS credential, and have up to 10 years of professional experience, please apply instead to posting # ASSOC010157 . Personal Qualifications Strong critical thinking, technical and analytical skills Superb attention to detail and dedication to technical accuracy The ability to work collaboratively and organise various client needs simultaneously across multiple concurrent projects Accustomed to working in a fast‑paced environment, willing to put in extra effort when required by our clients The ability and willingness to clearly articulate questions and ideas Clearly demonstrated leadership and creative thinking abilities Intellectual curiosity about the topics of risk, Milliman and the work of our practice Enthusiasm for producing high‑quality, professional work with accuracy and integrity Inspired to contribute to the success of a project and succeed as a team Self‑starter, with excellent time‑management skills including collaboration across time zones Preferred Qualifications Four or more passed actuarial exams Expertise with statistical and modelling tools such as R, @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, STATA, etc. Working knowledge of supplemental database and professional working tools such as Access and PowerPoint Location This is a hybrid position for candidates with under five years of relevant full‑time actuarial experience, based out of either the Milliman Boston office (Wakefield, MA) or Vermont office (Burlington, VT). Candidates with five or more years of relevant full‑time actuarial experience who are not local to one of these two locations may apply for remote work. Additional periodic travel may be required nationwide for meetings, conferences and team events (up to 20 %). The expected application deadline for this job is April 30, 2026. Compensation The overall salary range for this role is $67,600 – $152,605. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to: education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. For Candidates Residing In Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington or the District of Columbia: $77,740 – $136,160 if overall experience is more than two but less than four years; and $87,170 – $152,605 if overall experience is more than four but less than seven years. All other states: $67,600 – $118,400 if overall experience is more than two but less than four years; and $75,800 – $132,700 if overall experience is more than four but less than seven years.
