Job Description
Exciting Opportunity in GI Unit - Day Shift!

Job Description:


- Unit: GI; Preop and Phase 2 recovery in GI unit
- Setting: Predominantly outpatient with some inpatient care
- Start Date: Must be listed in job order; ensure it matches submission packet and candidate profile
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule:
- 4x10 hours, 0700 - 1730
- No weekends and no call
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- Skills Required:
- IV (Telemetry preferred)
- Experience:
- 2 years preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted!

Unit Details:


- Work in Preop and Phase 2 recovery in GI unit
- Responsibilities include:
- Preop: assessment, vital signs, IV insertion
- Phase 2: recovery monitoring vital signs, Aldrete score assessment, review discharge instructions, remove IV
- Patient Ratio:
- Preop: 1:1
- Postop: 1:3
- EMR: Experience with Epic preferred
- Scrubs: Provided
- Patient Diagnoses:
- Screening exams, ERCPs (therapeutic), EUS (diagnostic and therapeutic), inpatient issues (GI bleed, anemia, abdominal pain)
- Special Procedures:
- EGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS
- Additional Unit Information:
- Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams


Vaccine Information:


- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious exemptions only
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1st - Mar 31st)

Submission Requirements:


- Keep RTO to a minimum and include any in initial submission
- Updated/accurate interview availability
- Must have a VA license ACTIVE/IN HAND at time of submission
