Planning Engineer

Base pay range $40.00/hr - $45.00/hr Planning Engineer II (IP & Ethernet Hardware Deployment Planner) 16 months contract 100% Remote The Role Formulate projects to procure and install ethernet switch and IP routing telecommunications hardware, software, and connections to fulfill demand for data network growth and expansion initiatives. The Main Responsibilities Apply professional and technical networking knowledge and skills within a hybrid telecommunications and information technology service provider environment Author equipment installation work packages, procure hardware, track shipments, order circuits and other connectivity as needed to ensure successful installation by Implementation and Field Services teams Manage work intakes per service-level agreements and key performance indicator metrics; be highly responsive to company communication and work-related escalations Collaborate with other organizations on new products and technology deployment Independently plan and carry out assignments in conformance with accepted policies and practices What We Look for in a Candidate Required: Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience 3-5 years’ related experience in telecommunications, engineering, network planning, or equivalent Excellent critical thinking and analysis skills High attention to detail; able to quickly learn new systems, applications, and processes Good technical knowledge of Transport systems and IP Routing technologies, preferably at the enterprise or service provider levels Excellent organizational and time management skills; capable of organizing and managing multiple complex assignments simultaneously, on schedule and within budget Willing and able to work both individually and within a team environment to complete projects Highly responsive and able to communicate across various levels of the business (i.e., executive, sales, product, engineering, technology groups, cross-functional work groups, customers, etc.) Highly proficient in PC software and office applications (Microsoft preferred) Scripting, data analytics, and/or database administration skills are a plus Essential Job Functions: Understand and adjust to potential process changes and other requirements Leverage knowledge and skills to deliver major projects within deadline Identifies process gaps and makes recommendations for improvement to peers and Team Lead Complete all mandatory training sessions Understand the interdependence of platforms/other departments and how they impact each other Produce projects that are clear, concise, on point with clear definitions of work statements, hardware and cabling requirements, diagrams, materials, etc. Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Industries Telecommunications Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Swoon by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Get notified about new Planning Engineer jobs in United States .
