Materials Project Manager for Global Logistics

Company: Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Job Title: Materials Project Manager for Global Logistics Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Site: 185 Southside Industrial Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30354) The Materials Project Manager will continue success in maintaining and building our strategic relationship with our domestic 3PL provider(s). You will serve as the primary onsite contact bridging between the corporate office and our distribution network, aligning priorities and enabling smooth collaboration across multiple organizations. Key Responsibilities Build trust across departments, stakeholders, and external partners. Maintain long‑term relationships beyond individual projects. Anticipate stakeholder needs before they’re voiced. Go beyond coordination and become a trusted partner. Assist management and team members in establishing projects that align with continuous improvement objectives and vision. Develop project tasks, establish resources, and conduct analysis of project costs. Provide data analysis for project returns to the department in dollars and/or customer service improvements. Allocate work and help control utilization of the resource pool to ensure compliance with the project work plan. Establish methods and/or track root causes and provide corrective analyses; develop, track and close out action items. Assist Materials Management in supporting a Distribution Requirements/Resource Planning strategy to determine/satisfy inventory demands at global distribution centers. Conduct weekly reviews with management regarding continuous improvement objectives and project status. Maintain accurate records including bar charts, flow charts, and other tools to track manpower, budget performance, and project status. If the project is to be accomplished by a vendor, provide legal documentation to establish, append, and follow up with project scope of work and validate invoices. Ensure high visibility of project measurements (PDCA, dashboards or metrics). Develop and provide metrics for inventory accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years of project management or materials related experience. Certified Lean Specialist or Six Sigma Green Belt qualification preferred. Working knowledge of statistical tools. Project/process management analysis and documentation skills. Computer literacy with enterprise planning tools. Experience with Cognos reporting, Microsoft Office suite, iGrafx and/or Visio preferred. Ability to implement problem‑solving skills or change initiatives at an enterprise level. Ability to lead project teams and implement change.
