NURSE EDUCATOR/INFECTION CONTROL RN

The Clinical Educator & Infection Control Nurse Full‑time professional nurse position providing discipline‑focused orientation for nursing staff. Responsibilities Identify and assess the education needs of clinical staff to ensure they are competent to provide direct patient care. Provide leadership to the nursing staff in the nursing care delivery system in accordance with the hospital’s philosophy and established nursing standards of practice and policies. Provide infection control orientation for hospital staff. Provide leadership and consultation to staff to monitor infection control procedures in accordance with hospital’s policies. Identify the occurrence of outbreaks or clusters of infectious diseases. Qualifications Job Requirements: Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida. Current CPR or BLS certification. Preferred: one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5‑65yrs+. Work hours: 12‑hour shifts; day or night shift available; rotating weekends. Skills: Proficiency in medical terminology for medical documentation is preferred. Experience with behavioral health patient is preferred. Knowledge of patient care principles for adult psychiatric patients is beneficial. Experience working with children in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable. Competence in taking vital signs accurately. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills.
