addition to regular scheduled appointments; 7. Greets and receives patients to the clinic and discreetly ascertains the nature of their
illness or condition and directs them to appropriate care; 8. Responds to requests for routine non-medical information such as duty status; 9. Receives and screens phone calls; 10. Files and maintains Healthcare records; 11. Files health care reports in health records; 12. Maintains Health Record checkout file; 13. Inputs daily patient information into the Coast Guard Healthcare Information Systems; 14. Required to use all Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook,
PowerPoint, etc., to track data, generate reports, and prepare presentations. 15. Reviews and routes incoming correspondence; 16. Schedules and tracks consultations for specialty care; 17. Maintains referral log and notifies patients of appointments; 18. Reviews and verifies patient eligibility for care in accordance with Defense
Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS) computer system
guidelines; 19. The CMA/MA performance will be monitored through a joint function of the
Health, Safety, Work-Life Service Center (HSWL SC) Quality Improvement
process and the contractual demand for services. CMA/MA productivity is
expected to be comparable to that of other medical department staff assigned to
