Associate Director for HRL Content Operations Within the Division of Student Affairs, Housing and Residence Life (HRL) creates inclusive, safe, well‑maintained communities for students, supporting their academic, personal, and professional growth. Primary Purpose of Position The Associate Director for HRL Content Operations leads and coordinates content alignment for all department media, supporting housing operations, move‑in/out cycles, facility updates, and residence programs. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating marketing campaigns, advertising, social media, web content, creative services, video, copywriting, and assessment of content programs. The role builds relationships with University Communications, Student Affairs Marketing and Communications, and other campus partners to ensure HRL services are effectively promoted. Summary of Position Responsibilities Lead and oversee the development and execution of HRL content strategy aligned with departmental, divisional, and university priorities. Plan, coordinate, and implement marketing campaigns across print, digital, web, social media, and video platforms. Serve as the primary lead for HRL communications, including crisis and emergency messaging. Develop, write, and edit clear, concise, and engaging content for internal and external audiences in alignment with AP style and university branding standards. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, establishing timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring deadlines are met. Create and manage content calendars and workflows for marketing and communications initiatives. Coordinate design and production of promotional materials, collaborating with vendors for printing and branded merchandise. Maintain and update web content, including pages, images, and navigation. Lead social media strategy and execution across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging channels. Coordinate photography and videography efforts, including scripting and storyboard development for video content. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with University Communications, Student Affairs Marketing, and other campus partners. Consult and advise departmental stakeholders on marketing strategies and communication approaches. Assess the effectiveness of content strategies using metrics, feedback, and best practices, and implement continuous improvements. Train and guide staff on communication tools, marketing technologies, and best practices. Qualifications Graduation from a four‑year college or university with a major in a closely related field. Five years of progressive experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the area of assignment, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Five years of experience using Adobe Creative Suite. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in communications, marketing, higher education, or a related field. Experience working in a higher education or public university setting. Demonstrated experience leading comprehensive marketing and communication strategies. Strong knowledge of branding, editorial standards (including AP style), and digital content strategy. Experience managing social media platforms, web content, and digital campaigns. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop). Experience with video production, photography coordination, and storytelling through multimedia. Familiarity with project management tools and content management systems. Ability to analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to consult and advise senior leaders and campus partners.
