Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care in a MedSurg setting, focusing on post-surgical, orthopedic, and general medical patients. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being while adhering to unit protocols and clinical standards.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, including Heparin and MSO4, following strict protocols.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and interpret vital signs, including read strips, and respond to abnormal findings.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and family members on treatments, medications, and post-discharge care.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Valid RN license in good standing.
  
  
• 
  BLS certification required; additional certifications are a plus.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work 12-hour shifts on days and nights, with flexibility for floating to other MedSurg units.
  
  
• 
  Experience with post-surgical, orthopedic, chemotherapy, or palliative care patients preferred.
  
  
• 
  Comfortable working with COVID, 'clean,'and 'dirty' patient classifications.
  
  
• 
  Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
