Operating Room - Surgical Technologist

Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. No same schedule/shifts for travel duos.

Required Skills/Experience: Techs should have ortho total and ortho trauma experience in addition to general OR experience. Must score 3s in neuro and be competent to take neuro-trauma call. Must be able to independently do cranial procedures. Must be able to scrub.

Unit Details: Common cases include orthopedics, urology, ENT, neuro backs, and cranial cases. Uses Epic, Da Vinci robotics, Mako, Stealth, and Scopis.

Shift & Scheduling: Same schedule week to week. Call is somewhat self-scheduled. Weeknight call: two weeknights per week from end of shift until 0700 next morning, or 8 call shifts a month. Weekend call: three weekend days per month, 24 hour shifts. Holiday call as needed. Call response time: 15 minutes.

Floating Requirements: If the OR isn’t busy or if SP needs assistance, CSTs will rotate to help in SP.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
