Senior Accountant

Series C AI Healthcare Startup | Full-Time We're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to focus on automating our AP process . As a key member of our accounting organization, you'll own the end-to-end accounts payable process while helping scale financial operations in a fast-paced, AI-driven healthcare startup. What You’ll Do Own the full-cycle Accounts Payable process, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, three-way matching, payment approvals, ACH and wire payments, and vendor reconciliations. Manage high-volume invoice processing while ensuring accuracy, timely payments, and compliance with company policies. Prepare and post month-end journal entries related to AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, employee reimbursements, and other accounting activities. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process. Calculate and record monthly accruals to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Partner closely with Procurement, Treasury, FP&A, and department leaders to improve purchasing workflows and payment processes. Support banking operations, cash management activities, payment forecasting, and treasury functions. Leverage AI-powered finance platforms such as Ramp to automate invoice processing, expense management, corporate card reconciliation, approval workflows, and financial reporting. Drive continuous process improvements by identifying automation opportunities and implementing scalable accounting workflows. Assist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and finance transformation initiatives. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation while partnering with external auditors, including KPMG, during annual financial statement audits. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Engineering, Product, HR, Legal, Procurement, and Operations to support business growth and strategic initiatives. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting or accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-growth startup or technology company. Strong knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, accrual accounting, and financial reporting. Experience managing full-cycle Accounts Payable in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AI-powered finance tools such as Ramp or similar AP automation platforms. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics. Advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills. Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit documentation. Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare, health technology, SaaS, or AI companies. Experience supporting a venture-backed startup through rapid growth. CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Experience with AI tools, finance systems implementations and process automation.
