Software Development Engineer II to IV (DOE) – Backend Hybrid Role Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in office) at Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, or Fargo. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of the selected location or be willing to relocate. Responsibilities Program, debug, build, deploy, test, and document applications in development and production environments. Design databases and conduct system testing and documentation. Collaborate across teams for delivery and maintenance of application systems. Develop test plans and ensure quality standards are met. Provide consulting support to Engineering and Business partners and serve as an Engineering ambassador. Execute all Software Development Life Cycle requirements including requirement analysis, system design, and data modeling. Own Communities of Practice and Team Champion roles; guide teams in following architectural patterns. Drive process improvements through the One Cambia Architectural Decision process and adhere to IT/Engineering policies. Qualifications Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Experience: 3+ years for level II, 5+ years for level III, 8+ years for level IV in a multi‑platform environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience with asynchronous communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack. Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD). Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), containerization, and orchestration tools. Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL API design and best practices. Understanding of software security best practices, OWASP Top 10, and defensive programming. Experience building data pipelines (exchange, cleansing, validation, standardization, search & ranking). Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve programming and system issues independently. Self‑management of workload and proactive initiative. Experience leading groups of business customers and external technology partners. Preferred skills: TypeScript, Python, Docker, AWS.
