Occupational Therapist OT - Inpatient Rehab

About this Job MedStar Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist (Inpatient Rehab) to join our team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re‑assessment and revision, patient/client re‑evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation. The therapist participates in program planning and protocol development and assists the team in meeting established goals. Therapy is performed under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist in accordance with state requirements. Primary Duties Provide evaluation services: review history, perform assessments, determine recommendations, document results, explain findings and treatment plan to patient and family, and incorporate patient/family in goal setting. Implement treatment protocols based on evaluations, patient presentation, and evolving health‑care environment; consult with other healthcare professionals as indicated; recognize and document changes in patient condition requiring modifications to the plan of care or medical/rehabilitation consultation. Complete accurate discharge planning and follow‑up care; document and charge for patient‑care activities, providing a clear picture of patient course, including initial evaluation/plan of care, baseline goals, legible daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation. Demonstrate effective time management and meet productivity expectations; manage an accurate schedule; maintain a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathy in a patient consumer‑driven environment. Take initiative in continuing education for professional growth; serve as a clinical instructor to assign students; assist with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians. Qualifications Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy. Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia as required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Salary Range USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
