Structural Steel Estimator
Join a high-performing, close-knit fabrication shop where your work directly impacts our bottom line. We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Estimator (3+ years) to take ownership of material takeoffs, bid preparation, and cost modeling for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects.
Working side-by-side with our fabrication crew, project managers, and clients, you will translate architectural drawings into precise, winning proposals while driving profitability from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed material takeoffs and labor/material cost estimates from architectural and engineering blueprints.
- Leverage tools like Tekla, Bluebeam, and advanced Excel to build competitive, error-free bid packages.
- Interface directly with clients, engineers, and general contractors to clarify scopes of work and resolve RFIs.
- Collaborate with shop fabricators and project managers to align bid estimates with real-world shop capacity and field conditions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3+ years in structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimating within a fabrication or construction environment.
- Technical Toolkit: High proficiency in Bluebeam, Tekla PowerFab/EPM (or equivalent), and advanced Excel.
- Culture Fit: A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, small-shop environment and values cross-functional teamwork over corporate silos.
