Sr. Financial Analyst

Position Summary The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial planning, project performance analysis, and strategic decision-making within an architecture and design environment. Partners with project managers and leadership to ensure financial health of projects and the firm. Job Type Full-time Essential Functions Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Analyze project financial performance including revenue, billability, utilization rates, gross margin, and profitability. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to leadership. Develop dashboards and KPI reporting to track firm and project-level performance. Conduct cost analysis, staffing models, and resource planning to improve efficiency. Assist with pricing strategies, fee proposals, and contract financial review. Improve financial systems, tools, and reporting processes. Ensure data integrity across financial and project management systems. Collaborate with accounting on month‑end close and financial reconciliations. Support strategic initiatives including growth planning, acquisitions, or operational improvements. Support audits and compliance requirements. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 8+ years of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting experience, preferably in architecture, engineering, or professional services environment. Strong understanding of project-based accounting and revenue recognition. Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, data analysis). Experience with financial planning tools (Vena, PowerBI or similar) and ERP/project management systems. Proven ability to analyze large data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Strong communication skills with ability to present to non-financial stakeholders. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of KPIs relevant to architecture firms (utilization, realization, backlog, multiplier).
