Clinical Research Coordinator I - Neurology

Overview The clinical research coordinator’s position focuses on industry-sponsored clinical trials at the John L. Trotter Multiple Sclerosis Center. The coordinator will work in the lab of Dr. Rob Naismith, Professor of Neurology, and with a clinical trial research team. This role supports MS patients and participates in studies sponsored by NIH, Department of Defense, National MS Society, and pharmaceutical companies. For information on MS, visit: Primary Duties & Responsibilities Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and regulatory requirements; establishes record-keeping systems; assesses participants\' progress; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; decides when to notify physicians, stop participant inclusion, or adjust protocols; resolves protocol management issues and advises on corrective action; liaises with funding or sponsoring agencies. Recruits and enrolls study participants; determines eligibility; develops informed consent packets and explains study purpose to participants; administers and scores tests and evaluates lab and clinical assessments to ensure timely completion. Ensures timely completion of protocol requirements (assessments, lab testing, procedures, and treatments); evaluates and interprets clinical data; prepares presentations or reports on progress trends and provides conclusions and recommendations. Collects clinical data under clinical research protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Certifications/Professional Licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Certification must be obtained within one month of hire date. Benefits & Salary Grade: C09 Salary Range: $47,400.00 - $71,200.00 / annually Benefits include vacation, holidays, sick time, health insurance, transit pass, and retirement savings (403(b)).
