Registered Nurse (RN) - L&D

Registered Nurse I – Labor & Delivery/Obstetrics

Schedule: 12 hour nights. Possibly covering holidays/weekends. 36 hours a week guaranteed with occasional labor call or overtime.

Assignment Details: Must work in both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum.

Requirements:

• Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Less than 1 year of experience is acceptable.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes.
• Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families.
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team.
• Float to other departments as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
