School Operations Manager

School Operations Manager at Zūm: responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of school accounts, from onboarding after sales handover to day‑to‑day client support, route optimization, scheduling pickups and drop‑offs via the Zum Internal Dashboard, and ensuring accurate information across cross‑functional teams. Travel Requirement: 25% travel required. The role includes two‑week on‑site training at a school bus yard and ongoing 10–20% local travel to visit assigned yards. Must be available to travel and stay in California for the three‑week training. Responsibilities Manage the day‑to‑day relationship with schools/districts, serving as the main point of contact for Zum. Ensure student data and campus schedules are accurate and up to date. On‑board and maintain school accounts, monitoring and reporting KPIs weekly and quarterly. Coordinate the flow of information between Sales, Supply, Engineering, and Customer Success teams; act as Zum’s source of truth for account data. Manage the Salesforce case queue to ensure escalations and key requests are resolved in a timely manner. Identify and implement improvements in processes, safety protocols, dashboard/technology features, and operational planning for expansion. Requirements Experience in B2B account management and/or customer success. Proficiency in Google Suite, Excel, and Sheets. Experience managing or migrating large sets of data. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Preferred: experience managing multi‑million dollar accounts and working in a startup environment (2–3 years). Experience with Salesforce, Zendesk, or related ticketing systems. Ability to create reports and presentations from scratch. Comfortable working with incomplete data or uncertainties. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and pivot quickly to urgent incidents. Demonstrated teamwork, willingness to go beyond scope, and strong commitment to students, parents, and schools. Availability to travel and stay in California for a three‑week training. 75000 - 95000 USD a year. Compensation may include bonus, equity, or commissions.
