Correctional Officer – Maine State Prison, Warren Pay Grade 16: $26.06 – $31.28 per hour (includes $1.00 institutional stipend). Annual salary $54,204.80 – $65,062.40 not including shift differentials or premium overtime rate. You will be expected to uphold confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate integrity, compassion, and self‑restraint in all circumstances. Both in and out of uniform, your conduct will reflect the highest ideals of this profession. Minimum Requirements At least 18 years old. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (HiSET, GED, etc.). Valid driver’s license. Pay & Benefits Health, dental, vision, and life insurance. Training & Schedule Begin your career with confidence through paid, on‑the‑job training (OJT) and state certification: Pre‑Academy OJT → New Staff Orientation → Basic Corrections Training → 80‑hour OJT → Certified Correctional Officer. Training phase: Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Post‑training: 12‑hour shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m. or 6 p.m. – 6 a.m., depending on facility needs) Week 1: 3 days on / 4 days off Week 2: 4 days on / 3 days off Half the year off— with no mandating on your days off.
