HVAC Truck Based Chiller Mechanic (union)

Responsibilities Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor and provide solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. Support startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and aftermarket services for the HVAC business. Qualifications Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of three (3) years of practical working experience on residential and/or ducted products, air‑cooled and/or water‑cooled chillers, AHU’s or rooftop ducted units with strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience. Able to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chiller system components. Travel 10% to 20% to support branch customers for startup, commissioning and aftermarket service troubleshooting. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies; enroll in training programs and JCI’s STA to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting. Ability to write and communicate to the customer the problem, cause, and corrective actions. Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job; prioritize safety in all forms. Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $40.25 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet.
