Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Academic Success Center, the Academic Success Center (ASC) Coordinator manages the daily operations of an assigned Academic Success Center, primarily serving the Boulder County Campus with remote support college-wide, to ensure efficient, student-centered delivery of tutoring, learning strategies, and supplemental instruction services. The Coordinator conducts student intake and coaching, connecting students to appropriate academic support and campus resources, while maintaining a welcoming and neuro-inclusive learning environment.

The Coordinator leads the full lifecycle of part-time and student staffing for the ASC, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management, and develops training modules and professional development sessions that build staff capacity across the center. The role also supports ASC technology systems, operational resources, and administrative recordkeeping to sustain day-to-day service delivery.

Through collaboration with ASC leadership, academic departments, and the college-wide team, the Coordinator contributes to program assessment, data collection, and continuous improvement efforts, and participates in student engagement and marketing initiatives that raise awareness of academic success services across the college. This role is expected to model and advance the ASC's values in alignment with FRCC's strategic priorities, including its vision for student success and its commitment to diverse learners and communities, and directly supports the college goal to "Create a Superior Student Experience."

This position does have the opportunity to work remotely occasionally but does require a strong on-campus presence and may need to occasionally travel to all three FRCC campuses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations Management

• Coordinates daily operations of the assigned Academic Success Center to ensure efficient, student-centered delivery of academic support services, including scheduling student appointments.
• Conducts in-person and remote intake appointments to assess student learning support needs, connect students to appropriate services and campus resources, and resolve or de-escalate concerns.
• Maintains accurate records of student appointments, staff assignments, schedules, and part-time employee information.
• Maintains a welcoming, organized, and neuro-inclusive learning environment, including current informational materials (flyers, signage, resource displays).
• Identifies and manages operational supplies and resources in accordance with college purchasing policy and assigned spending authority.
• Supports ASC technology systems (e.g., EAB Navigate), including reporting and troubleshooting.

Training

• In collaboration with ASC team, develops and maintains training modules, instructional materials, and learning resources for ASC staff and student workshops.
• In collaboration with ASC team, conducts staff training sessions each semester and ongoing professional development sessions for part-time ASC employees.
• Conducts or co-facilitates student workshops on academic success strategies, as assigned.
• Coordinates and conducts new tutor orientation.

Part-Time Staff Supervision

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and onboards student and part-time hourly ASC employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
• Assigns work, builds staff schedules, and monitors staffing levels for effective service delivery.
• Conducts performance observations, provides ongoing coaching and constructive feedback; addresses performance and conduct concerns through progressive corrective action per College and HR policies and guidelines.
• Processes bi-weekly payroll and maintains accurate employee records.

Student Coaching

• Educates and mentors students on learning strategies, time management, and resource use, through workshops and presentations.

Student Engagement

• Supports engagement opportunities as identified, including but not limited to class visits, new student orientation, student life events, marketing campaigns, etc.
• Assists with maintaining current and up to date ASC public information.
• Assists with marketing academic success services and initiatives to keep faculty, staff, and students informed about available resources.

Collaboration

• Partners with academic departments to meet tutoring needs.
• Collaborates with ASC and college teams to support operations, evaluate programs, track results, and gather student and employee feedback for continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree and demonstrated experience in training, supervision, or customer service.

OR

• An associate’s degree with a minimum of two years’ work experience in training, supervision, or customer service within higher education.

AND

• Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other Office365 applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish.
