Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory support and assisting with patient transport within the facility as per medical prescriptions and professional licensure scope. The therapist evaluates patient conditions, recommends treatment plans, and educates patients regarding treatment procedures, test explanations, and discharge information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol equipment to provide medications, humidification, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as required to promote patient health.
• Monitor and assess patients using oximetry and capnography techniques.
• Review and evaluate patients' chest x-rays for further analysis.
• Administer pulmonary function tests and assist with procedural interventions as necessary.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and communicate essential information during shift changes.
• Follow all policies and procedures regarding laboratory testing and quality controls.
• Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist licensure.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and various therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care.
