Harris County Commissioners Court, the County's governing body, directs a budget of more than $4 billion providing essential services including flood control, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and justice administration.This is a great time to join Universal Services as we enhance critical services to Harris County residents and internal customers.Position Summary:The Coordinator – Asset Management supports and coordinates enterprise asset management and warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, inventory control, storage, staging, shipping, distribution, asset tagging, surplus, recycling, and physical inventory activities.The position is responsible for maintaining accurate asset and inventory records, coordinating the movement of technology and other departmental assets throughout their lifecycle, and ensuring appropriate controls over assets entering, stored within, and leaving the warehouse.The Coordinator works closely with Universal Services teams, County departments, vendors, carriers, and asset custodians to ensure assets are properly received, recorded, stored, distributed, transferred, and disposed of in accordance with established policies and procedures.The position also develops, updates, and implements standard operating procedures related to asset management, warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and operational efficiency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Coordinates day-to-day warehouse and asset management operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, staging, picking, shipping, distribution, and asset movement.Receives, inspects, processes, logs, and distributes technology equipment and other assets received from vendors and Universal Services partners.Verifies incoming equipment against purchase orders, packing slips, shipping documentation, and other applicable records.Coordinates shipping and receiving activities, including carrier deliveries, outbound shipments, returns, damaged equipment, and vendor return/RMA transactions.Coordinates asset tagging, labeling, scanning, storage location assignment, deployment staging, surplus, recycling, and disposal activities.Maintains accurate inventory and asset records, including asset location, quantity, condition, ownership, status, assignment, and chain of custody.Conducts and coordinates physical inventories, cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.Investigates and resolves discrepancies involving missing, unidentified, incorrectly tagged, incorrectly assigned, or improperly recorded assets.Works with asset custodians and County departments to verify the existence, ownership, location, and condition of assets.Monitors pending asset pickups, aging inventory, unused equipment, and warehouse storage capacity and follows up with customers as appropriate.Ensures appropriate documentation is maintained for assets received, transferred, deployed, returned, surplused, recycled, or disposed of.Coordinates asset-related requests from internal teams, vendors, and County departments, including facility access, escorts, routing, delivery, pickup, and other operational requirements.Supports the efficient utilization and organization of warehouse space, including appropriate storage, staging, and segregation of equipment.Assists with warehouse safety, material handling, equipment operation, and compliance with established procedures.Develops, documents, updates, and implements standard operating procedures for warehouse management, inventory control, shipping and receiving, asset handling, and lifecycle management.Identifies opportunities for process improvement, automation, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and improved customer service.Provides management with inventory, receiving, shipping, aging, discrepancy, and operational reports.Provides work direction, training, and instruction to employees and contractors supporting asset and warehouse operations as required.Operates pallet jacks, electric lifts, asset transportation vehicles, power tools, communication equipment, and other equipment necessary to receive, move, store, and distribute assets.Performs other duties as assigned in support of Enterprise Technology Asset Management and warehouse operations.Harris County is an Equal Opportunity EmployerIf you need special services or accommodations, please call View phone number on apply.j-vers.com or email View email address on apply.j-vers.com. Only relevant convictions will be considered and, even when considered, may not automatically disqualify the candidate.RequirementsEducation:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.Experience:Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in asset management, inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, shipping and receiving, or a closely related function.Minimum one (1) year of experience using an enterprise inventory, asset management, warehouse management, ERP, or similar tracking system.Experience with receiving, shipping, inventory control, asset tracking, physical inventory, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment involving the receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of equipment or materials.Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check that includes being fingerprinted.
