DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting operations for a leading long-term care organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on financial leader who enjoys managing accounting operations while contributing to strategic financial planning and analysis. Please contact MICHAEL ABATE @ View email address on click.appcast.io;com for more informationRequirementsAccounting & Financial OperatinsOversee all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, fixed assets, cash management, and month-end closeEnsure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting standardsManage account reconciliations and oversee all balance sheet activiesCoordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditorsFinancial Analysis & ReportingAnalyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunitiesPrepare and present monthly financial reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variance analyses to senior leadershipAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planningSupport strategic initiatives by providing financial modeling and operational analysisMonitor cash flow and recommend strategies to improve financial performanceReimbursement & Regulatory ComplianceMaintain a strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party reimbursement methodologiesCollaborate with clinical and reimbursement teams to monitor reimbursement performance and optimize revenueSupport cost reporting and ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulationsStay current on reimbursement changes affecting the long-term care industryLeadershipLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementEstablish priorities, streamline processes, and improve operational efficienciesPartner with department leaders to support sound financial decision-making across the organizationStrategic Growthwork closely with the CFO and executive leadership on strategic financial initiativesParticipate in acquisitions, system implementations, process improvements, and other organizational projects as neededDevelop the leadership and financial expertise necessary to advance into a future CFO roleQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably within a long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute healthcare environmentsDemonstrated experience managing an accounting teamStrong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare financial reportingExperience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and month-end close processesStrong understanding of GAAP and internal controlsExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software.Excellent communication and leadership abilitiesPreferred QualificationsCPA or MBAExperience with multi-facility healthcare organizationsExperience with healthcare cost reporting and reimbursement analysisProven success implementing process improvements and financial systemsJob typePerm
