Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 16, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 4.62 percent and will receive eight PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through December 2026. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) seeks to fill Permanent/Full Time Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (Internal Medicine/Family Practice) in Medical Services Unit. Under the direction of the Chief Physician and Surgeon (CP&S), the Physician & Surgeon (P&S) is assigned to mentor other HIV specialists and assist the CP&S with HIV projects, and to evaluate and co-manage patients in special populations such as, but not limited to, those diagnosed with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C (HCV), or Hepatitis B (HBV) infections with or without concomitant substance use disorder (SUD), within the California Department of Corrections (CDCR) patient population. Moderate travel to correctional facilities to provide on-site patient care or other related activities may be required.

This position is located in Special Populations HIV/HCV/HBC, Medical Services, which provides safe, effective and efficient health care to patients within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's 35 institutions. The Central Pharmacy dispenses prescriptions to both inpatient and outpatient settings and provides clinical pharmacy services where necessary. Pharmaceutical care is provided to each prison by the local staff of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through all levels of patient care (inpatient to ambulatory).
