Senior Structural Engineer (10-15 years) We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with ten to fifteen years of experience for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player, able to work closely with the business development team and other discipline leaders in developing technical proposals, and take a proactive role in marketing and business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. The candidate will work directly with clients providing consulting services. Responsibilities Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects Design steel, concrete, and masonry for commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction Design experience with light gauge steel and timber is a plus Interpret technical drawings and lead design team efforts Manage project teams for budget and schedule control Develop fee and qualification-based proposals Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings Multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; understanding of databases and proposal resources Conduct marketing/business development activities Contribute positively to office and department goals, culture, and morale Ability to travel Coordinate work with Coffman offices (e.g., Raleigh, Atlanta) to complete projects Education/Experience/Qualifications B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program required Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience Experience with software such as RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, Etabs, Enercalc, etc. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time management skills Project management experience and/or certifications Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus Active local industry involvement is a plus Compensation And Benefits Approximate Base Salary – 100K-150k Salary based on qualifications and relevant experience Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate Competitive end-of-year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change) 401k with up to 5% matching for 9% employee contribution Additional Information This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
