Position Summary:

• The Application System Analyst II serves as a liaison between system end-users, customers, operational leaders, support teams, and vendors to design, build, support, and optimize assigned applications.
• This role provides application support and optimization while working closely with the Service Desk to resolve service requests. The Analyst will analyze business requirements, workflows, and operational needs and apply application and healthcare systems expertise to develop effective solutions.
• The position supports medium- to high-complexity projects, including analysis, testing, documentation, implementation, configuration, and optimization. The ideal candidate has strong healthcare and systems knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

• Analyze, develop, test, document, implement, support, maintain, and optimize assigned applications, solutions, and business processes.
• Analyze business requirements, workflows, current processes, and future needs to develop effective solutions.
• Perform requirements gathering, stakeholder analysis, process mapping, specification development, and gap analysis.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve moderate incidents and service requests.
• Design and configure applications based on operational and technical requirements.
• Support medium-complexity projects and assigned tasks while providing appropriate oversight and project coordination.
• Collaborate with operational leaders, end users, business partners, technical teams, vendors, and other IT teams.
• Develop strong relationships with end-user communities and business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, customer experience, and operational processes.
• Promote standardized best-practice workflows and processes across the organization.
• Clearly communicate complex application design and configuration concepts to end users and stakeholders.
• Provide training and guidance to new team members and assist with formal and informal training sessions.
• Proactively evaluate new application releases and functionality and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Follow organizational standards for application configuration, change management, testing, and validation.
• Coordinate application and code changes with appropriate vendors.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify infrastructure-related issues affecting applications.
• Share relevant industry and vendor best practices with operational leaders.
• Provide clear project status updates and documentation to stakeholders and leadership.
• Escalate issues when SLAs are breached or appropriate vendor action is not occurring.
• Maintain high-quality standards for application design, configuration, documentation, and deliverables.
• Mentor and provide feedback to junior team members when appropriate.
• Participate in strategy discussions and identify practical solutions with associated options and considerations.
• Work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively address issues and conflicts.
• Complete assigned training through HealthStream or other organizational learning platforms.
• Travel may be required based on business needs.
• Additional hours may be required during critical incidents or high-priority issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 2+ years of experience within healthcare, business, or information systems.
• Detailed knowledge of healthcare operations and information systems.
• Strong application-specific design and configuration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to independently analyze, design, configure, and support applications.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to and implement organizational and system changes.
• Ability to present complex information in a meaningful format, including charts and graphs.

• Epic certification or proficiency in the assigned Epic module is required.
• If not already certified/proficient, certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment .
• Epic certifications/proficiencies must remain current through required new-version training.
• Additional certifications related to the assigned area of focus are preferred.

• Relevant certifications in the assigned area of focus are preferred.
• Epic certification/proficiency required for Epic Analyst positions.
