The reporting location for this position is 4940 Lange Ave. in McClellan, CA. This position will work under the direction of Park Maintenance Chief III.

The Senior Maintenance Aide supports field crews by maintaining and tracking tools and equipment. This position will assist with project mobilization and demobilization and will use Excel and Word documents/spreadsheets to track tools and equipment. This position may be asked to temporarily work from remote locations to support project work statewide. Work will include heavy manual labor, extensive walking to and from work sites, hot summer temperatures, cold winter conditions including work in rain and snow conditions, and work in high altitude, desert and coastal environments. This position may require long-term project coordination at any State Park. This position requires working nights, weekends, and odd hours and overtime in accomplishment of assigned tasks. This position may spike camp at work sites throughout the state.

Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver's license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

The incumbent's work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Extensive travel will be required. Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

Working Conditions


This job includes the ability to perform a variety of heavy manual labor work to restore and maintain state park resources and facilities, and requires working outdoors in inclement weather conditions, smoky conditions related to prescribed fire, hiking over uneven and steep terrain, and carrying heavy loads. This position is required to travel statewide for extended periods of time. The position also requires working nights, weekends, odd hours and overtime to accomplish assigned tasks. This position may be required to spike camp outside in remote sites throughout the California State Park system.
