About the Position

Job Title: Staff Nurse Specialty Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVOR and Cardiothoracic Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: - Minimum of six months to three years of Nursing (RN) experience License: - Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: - BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) Must-Have: - CVOR + Cardiothoracic experience (CABG, Valve replacements, VATS, Robotic chest procedures) Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN focuses on the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in and supports improvement initiatives. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. The RN participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop. The RN will perform other duties as assigned. Schedule Notes: - Call requirements may include up to three shifts per week, ranging from 8 to 16 hours. - One working weekend required every four weeks.
