Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting activities related to project-based operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, job cost management, month-end close processes, and strong internal controls. The Controller will partner closely with operational leadership and finance teams to support project performance, financial forecasting, and organizational objectives. This position also provides leadership, mentorship, and performance management for a team of four accounting professionals.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the full accounting lifecycle for project-based operations.Monitor and manage project-related costs, including capitalized and pre-project expenditures.Maintain cost coding structures and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.Support project funding, draw processes, and related financial reporting requirements.Track job costs, contract modifications, and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.Oversee revenue recognition and ensure accurate project financial reporting.Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.Prepare and review financial statements, project reports, and management reporting packages.Partner with operational leaders to support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.Establish, maintain, and enforce strong internal controls and accounting policies.Collaborate with finance leadership to support cash management, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.Ensure consistency and accuracy of accounting practices across projects and business operations.Direct, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals, including performance management, training, and career development.Support internal and external audits and provide requested financial documentation.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, and financial controls.BENEFITS OFFERED:SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$140,000Healthcare Benefits: Medical Dental visionOther Insurance: Basic Life, AD&DRetirement Plan: 401k with a company matchPTO: 3 weeks PTO and paid holidays
