Job Title Medical Technologist Job Details Location: RWJBarnabas Health Corporate Services, 95 Old Short Hills Road, West Orange, NJ 07052 Department: Lab CMMC Shift: Day Employment Type: Part-Time (Hourly) Pay Range: $40.79 - $52.03 per hour Req #: 0000252722 Job Overview Assumes responsibility for the performance of routine, standardized biological and/or biochemical tests, as well as more complex procedures on blood, urine, tissues, body fluids and other specimens that assist physicians in the diagnosis and clinical management of patients. Recognizes results or problems that require referral to a supervisor. Essential Functions Work in a well‑lit, sometimes poorly ventilated and intermittently noisy environment. Experience stressful pressure episodes. Potential exposure to stains, infectious biological materials, caustic, toxic and noxious agents. Occasional risk of electrical shock and laceration. Meet requirements of the ADA. Moderate amounts of sitting, standing, walking. Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects up to 20 pounds. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or sciences. Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques obtained through a formal four‑year college/university program. Registry with a recognized board of registry for medical technology (e.g., American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred). Successful completion of all orientation programs.
