Purchasing/Tool Room Coordinator

Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for managing activities and overseeing tool room operations in a welding and fabrication environment focused on stainless steel and aluminum. Ensures the availability, control, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials to support efficient production

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES :
Coordinate purchasing of raw materials (stainless steel, aluminum), consumables, and shop supplies.
Source and evaluate vendors for cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent production delays.
Manage tool room operations, including tool issuance, tracking, and storage.
Monitor condition and calibration of welding tools and fabrication equipment.
Implement tool control systems to reduce loss and improve accountability.
Collaborate with production and welding teams to forecast material and tool needs.
Process purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of materials.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchase, and tool usage.
JOB SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS :

Knowledge of stainless steel and aluminum fabrication processes
Familiarity with welding tools (MIG, TIG, fixtures, gauges, etc.)
Inventory management and purchasing systems (ERP/MRP preferred)
Vendor negotiation and cost control.
Strong organizational and coordination skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
