Position Location

This position is located in Blackstone, VA and is contingent upon contract award.


Job Overview

The Central Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the equipment within a central utility plant, which typically includes boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other HVAC systems, ensuring efficient and safe heating and cooling distribution throughout a building or campus by regulating temperatures, pressures, and flow rates, often requiring routine maintenance checks, troubleshooting issues, and responding to emergencies; essentially acting as the primary caretaker of a facility's central energy production system.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, system adjustments, and troubleshooting of plant equipment to maintain continuous operations and maximize system efficiency.
• Responds to alarms, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations, and coordinates corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintains operational logs and records, monitoring building automation and control systems, supporting water treatment processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• High School Diploma.
• Experience in HVAC.
• Three (3) years of experience as Central Plant Operator.
• Secret Security Clearance.
