Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized written plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
• Deliver patient-centered care with a focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and evidence-based practice on a 28-bed Medical Surgical unit serving general and vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients.
• Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR methodology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Apply strong time management skills to maintain productivity and support overall team performance.
• Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model, contributing to a healthy and collaborative work environment.
• Perform duties consistent with unit-specific and general competency-based objectives as directed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan (LARA and Nursys verification required).
• Minimum of 2 years of straight Medical Surgical experience (not float, SDU, or telemetry).
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity Medical Surgical environment with a diverse patient population.
