The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. Intrepid is the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (NYSE: MUFG), one of the largest financial groups in the world.The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Intrepid Investment Bankers is expanding nationally and seeking to hire a talented and experienced Managing Director to launch and lead an Aerospace, Defense & Government Services practice. The practice will benefit from significant deal flow opportunities from the firm’s sponsor coverage, institutional referral relationships and its parent company’s large industrial coverage team with relationships spanning across many of the largest industrial, aerospace and defense companies in the United States. While we are headquartered in Los Angeles, we will consider candidates in different locations on a case-by-case basis. ResponsibilitiesManaging Directors are an important part of Intrepid deal teams, working closely with junior bankers and clients. Managing Directors are involved in all phases of origination and execution including:Building relationships with deal referral sources and business ownersIdentifying, qualifying, and generating new prospect leadsManaging the client relationship and overseeing all client and counter-party communicationLeading a specific practice or product area, as applicable, and developing thought leadership in target sectorsOverseeing all aspects of the transactionAssisting other bankers in firm building activities (training, recruiting, mentoring, etc.)Qualifications10+ years of experience in sell-side M&A advisoryMinimum 5 years of industry specific M&ADeep understanding of the aerospace, defense and government services sectorsExtensive record and experience of originating and executing M&A transaction in the aerospace, defense and government services sectors Outstanding academic credentials from a top tier schoolTeam player willing to take an integral role in Intrepid’s growthExcellent written and oral communications skillsSelf-starter willing to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding, and fast paced environmentAbility to engage with prospects and intermediaries, develop relationships, and work seamlessly as a bridge for introducing other senior bankers into these relationshipsFINRA Series 7, 63 or 79 license, Series 24 The typical base pay for this role is $275,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
