Bring Change to Mind (BC2M) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating dialogue around mental health, and to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy. In 2015, BC2M launched its free, evidence-based, student-led Club Program with 25 schools in California. Over the last eleven years, BC2M Clubs have expanded across the US, operating in 43 states, 500+ high schools, and 100+ middle schools, empowering over 100,000 students to take a proactive approach to their mental health. BC2M Clubs encourage students to foster meaningful mental health conversations, create a network of peer support within their school communities, build resilience, gain knowledge, and learn how to access resources to support their mental health.

Our New York region and the surrounding tri-state area is in an exciting phase of growth and increased traction. By the end of 2027 we intend to partner with 100 schools across the state, empowering and amplifying the voices of their students.

Summary of Position

The Senior Program Associate will support high school and middle school mental health clubs across the country, with an emphasis on clubs in the New York tri-state area. In this elevated role, the Senior Associate operates with moderate autonomy to develop club-specific strategies, independently lead higher-visibility partnerships, and set strategic priorities in alignment with regional goals. This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Senior Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Club and Region Management

• Independently support and manage a portfolio of BC2M high school and middle school clubs (primarily virtually, with select in-person engagement) to successfully implement the BC2M program model.
• Empower student leaders to be drivers of change in their school community by helping them set and achieve actionable goals, celebrating their strengths, and supporting the development of their leadership skills.
• Implement culturally responsive practices in high-needs and Equal Opportunity Schools - adapting support strategies to the school context and surfacing insights to inform future program strategies.
• Identify opportunities to elevate the voice of student leaders as advocates for mental health in their communities.
• Consistently collect and track critical data points about club demographics, activities, and support provided via resources such as Salesforce.
• Actively make programmatic and day-to-day decisions based on the organization's logic model and Theory of Change.
• Hold introductory calls with prospective clubs and guide them through the onboarding process.
• Utilize tech-based tools (e.g. mail merge) to streamline communication and enable you to provide tailored, relationship-driven support to a growing number of schools.

Outreach and Community Engagement

• Present and facilitate interactive sessions promoting the BC2M programs for students, educators, and community members across diverse settings;
• Represent BC2M at higher-visibility events.
• Expand BC2M’s physical footprint in the New York Tri-State area by attending local events, networking, and serving as an in-person brand ambassador.
• Manage select regional partnerships by developing and sustaining key community relationships.
• Continue to grow BC2M’s network in the New York Tri-State area by identifying and pursuing potential partners.

Program Development, Content Creation, and Event Planning

• Lead portions of the planning and coordination for regional events, such as BC2M’s Annual Student Leadership Fest.
• Identify and elevate programmatic learnings (challenges, opportunities, etc.) and participate in piloting new innovations.
• Set strategic priorities in alignment with program strategy and goals, operating with moderate autonomy and taking the opportunity to lead projects.

Additional Expectations:

• Support cross-regional projects and national initiatives as needed. .
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel to schools and events when needed.

Minimum qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in related field preferred
• Passion for supporting youth mental health and drive to achieve meaningful impact on youth
• Meaningful experience with youth required
• Three professional references
• Preference for candidates based in the New York Tri-State area, or with ability to be in the area as-needed
