Transport Engineer (Active TS Clearance Required)

We are seeking a highly motivated Transport Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise transport and network infrastructure supporting mission‑critical environments. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining secure, high‑performing network systems across LAN, WAN, SDN, and transport technologies while ensuring compliance with customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational requirements. Job Responsibilities Support network systems for new and existing computer environments. Implement and administer computer and information networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets, extranets, SDN, application analysis, and QoS. Perform network analysis, troubleshooting, and administration of network and computer security measures. Support research and provide recommendations on network and data communications hardware and software. Execute work that involves complex tasks requiring multi- or interdisciplinary approaches. Network architecture and strategic planning. Evaluate network performance reports and provide consulting support. Administer networks in alignment with customer SLAs and requirements (IPv6, multi‑VRF, QoS). Plan logical addressing, redundancy, and capacity (logical and physical). Provide network design, implementation, and Tier 3 operational support. Provide technical information to architects for document and proposal finalization. Work effectively at an enterprise level within cross‑functional teams to meet SLAs. Demonstrate customer‑focused, team‑oriented communication and accountability, with availability on IM during business hours. Additional Desired Skills Experience with multi‑vendor firewalls, switches, and routers. Experience with tiered and spine/leaf network architectures. IPv6 engineering and implementation experience. Support for advanced technologies including network optimization, equipment configuration, technology assessment/insertion, capacity planning, and configuration management. Education/Equivalent Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent education/training/experience. Experience 3–5 years of related systems engineering experience. Experience managing MPLS/VPN networks. Experience managing SDN. Data center experience with VSS and/or VPC. Knowledge of Tellabs GPON/Optical LAN Networking. Clearance Requirements Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD). Must hold an active TS clearance and be able to obtain and maintain SCI.
