Education, Training, Experience, Certification And Licensure Doctoral degree required, Master’s degree in nursing or related field with at least five years of progressive experience in nursing education and academic leadership. The Dean is required to be a graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing and hold current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York state. Participates in continuing education, updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Has specialized knowledge and skills in nursing education, curriculum design, and program development and evaluation; maintains general knowledge of current nursing practices, is a participating member of the Council for Associate Degree Nursing (CADN) in New York State, and keeps abreast of policies and procedures of the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Special Skills Or Other Requirements Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills; transformational leadership behaviors and skills in initiating and managing change; strong management practice, including planning, organizing, conflict resolution and negotiation; motivational skills that promote creativity and innovation at every academic level; an ongoing interest in and involvement with relevant local, regional and national professional organizations. Experience in developing and managing the operational and capital budget. Broad-based knowledge of college- related regulatory compliance requirements. Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to health care and nursing education. Knowledgeable of governing documents and policies of the organization. Understands the general principles of utilization management, performance improvement, and peer review. Academic Program Options St. Joseph's College of Nursing offers both Weekday and Evening/Weekend options leading to an associate in applied science degree with a major in nursing. The Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (DDPN) with Le Moyne College allows students to achieve both an associate and a baccalaureate degree in four years. The Accelerated Dual Degree Partnership in Nursing (A-DDPN) option in conjunction with Le Moyne College allows students who already have a bachelor’s degree in another field to earn both an associate degree and bachelor’s degree in 18 months. Salary Salary Range: $155,168 - $204,776 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
