ZAK Events is seeking a motivated individual to join our team and lead a new wedding planning division. The Wedding Planner position requires you to work hand-in-hand with brides to create mood boards and visual images of various event details on a daily basis. Additional requirements include working with various vendors, obtaining quotes/estimates from vendors, researching new suppliers, working directly with bridal clients and providing a high level of quality service. This position requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook. The ideal candidate is able to multi-task, keep good organization of event details, and have a fascination with the weddings/event design/floral design industry. Must have an outgoing personality and convey a professional attitude with a variety of clientele.
Partial List of Responsibilities:
- Create design/mood boards and look books from concept to completion on a daily basis
- Work with the creative department on various unique designs and wedding set ups
- Create combinations of floral centerpieces, arrangements, furniture vignettes and dining tablescapes
- Work with the Lead Designer to conceptualize various wedding themes and styles
- Obtain and organize vendor quotes/estimates
- Keep a well organized calendar of various tasks for clients
- Perform sales functions to include marketing efforts, monthly newsletters, social media management, venue visits and attend various industry trade shows and meetings
Requirements:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office is REQUIRED.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a professional design/planning position is preferred.
- MUST be a team player and be able to work with a talented group of creative professionals
- MUST have valid drivers license (Photo ID required)
- MUST be available to work evenings, early mornings, weekends and some holidays
- This position is based at our office in Oakland, New Jersey (Mon-Fri, 10:00am-5:00pm). No public transportation is available.

- Special Event Design experience is required
- Eager to learn, positive attitude, forward thinker, outgoing and personable
- Knowledge of Apple Platform
