3west is a 50 bed cardiac progressive care unit that sees a multitude of complex patients, including medicine overflow. Many of our patients require advanced monitoring, or an elevated level of care. Rns obtain specialized skills to care for this population including being acls trained within 1 year of rn hire. Specialties often cared for on 3west include, cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, lung/heart transplant, trans-venous pacing, mechanical circulatory support, and dka management, as well as heated high flow oxygen needs from many medical teams. 3west is a great place to learn while achieving an elevated scope of practice outside of the icu setting.
