Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality care to medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Ensure patient safety, administer treatments, and collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' conditions and update care plans accordingly.
• Administer medications and monitor titratable IV drips, including CPRAP, Bipap, high flow, vents, and other respiratory equipment.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips, documents findings accurately, and collaborate with telemetry/monitor techs.
• Follow unit-specific protocols, including orientation, policies, and procedures set by management.
• Float to assist other units when needed, maintaining flexibility in scheduling and assignments.
• Participate in required shift rotations, including weekends and holidays, adhering to staffing guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Valid and unexpired driver's license with submission required.
• Current BLS certification; NIHSS for RNs and LPNS; ACLS and PALS recommended.
• Strong Med/Surg background with experience managing diverse patient diagnoses such as CP, CHF, pneumonia, post-op surgery, pediatric patients, and detox.
• Ability to read telemetry strips and work with ICU monitors.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment, adaptable to floating responsibilities.
• Previous experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred.
